Frequently asked questions

The tuner isn't picking up my guitar
The tuner needs microphone access. Open Settings → Cam's Axe Manager and make sure Microphone is on, then tap Start Listening in the Tuner tab. Play single notes in a reasonably quiet room and keep the instrument close to the mic. Audio is analyzed live on your device and is never recorded or sent anywhere.
Barcode scanning won't open or find my gear
Scanning uses the camera, so enable Camera in Settings → Cam's Axe Manager. When you scan a UPC, the app looks it up through UPCItemDB to suggest a make and model — only the barcode number is sent, never anything personal. If a product isn't found, you can still add it by hand.
My library isn't syncing between my iPhone and iPad
Sync uses your own private iCloud. On each device, make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID, that iCloud Drive is on, and that the device has a network connection. Sync can take a moment to catch up after you add something. Your data lives in your personal iCloud — Furey Labs can't see it.
How do I back up or export my data?
Open Settings → Export Data to save your inventory as a file you can keep or share, and Settings → Import Data to restore it on another device. For ongoing protection, Settings → Backup Management lets you turn on automatic backups, which save a local copy of your data at scheduled intervals.
I left a tip but didn't get anything — is that right?
Yes 💛 — the Tip Jar (Settings → Tip Jar) is purely a thank-you. Tips are one-time purchases that don't unlock features, and the app is completely free and fully functional without them. If a tip was charged but didn't go through, email me and I'll sort it out.
Do I need an account?
No. There's no sign-up and no login. Everything works locally, with optional syncing through your own iCloud.
